Talking with the people

How is it that I, as a foreigner, write about Compas. – Since 2006 I was an active member of the Compas music forum Opa Mizik and Haitian Beatz. I met many people (enthusiasts, experts, musicians). Listen to a lot of Compas

Everything begins with the music. Today I can say I am familiar with all the important Compas albums (stylistically). You compare the theory, with what you hear, see, read. You derive conclusions and formulations from what you hear, see, read.
  There is a lot of different music. A music example can be found for each assertion. What is relevant, what has significance in the broadest sense and for which segment...
A theoretical summary is always subject to the personal point of view (connotation). From innumerable aspects a picture is put together over many years. One learns constantly. One is never finished with weighting and differentiating.
The texts “Konpa – this is Compas” and “History of Compas Direct” have been reviewed and corrected before publication.
